Reality Check
by Debbie Kampel

Ramat Gan, Israel

I am old and bent over,
give me your hand;
I am frightened,
give me your hand;
I am in a wheel chair,
give me your hand;
I can still
make a difference,
TAKE MY HAND.

Richard Bergman
Sarasota, Florida

FROM THE ARTIST: Painted at a junction that was turned into a temporary checkpoint in 2003, my painting shows an aspect of daily coexistence between soldier and civilian, young and old. My paintings bear witness to the human moments. There are no stereotypes – just people, human beings, interacting, acknowledging and embracing their common humanity.
