FROM THE ARTIST: I have photographed all over the world documenting people, places and festivals. I also photograph cultural diversity – the many cultures and subcultures – in Los Angeles (where I live), creating art with social impact. I took this photograph at an immigrant rights demonstration in Los Angeles where 200,000 marched to City Hall in the morning, and 400,000 marched city streets that evening. I was moved by this little girl’s presence, a poignant reminder of who would have been affected by the proposed legislation – namely, children and their families.
