The surest way to corrupt a youth
is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem
those who think alike
than those who think differently.

Friedrich Nietzsche
German Philosopher (1844-1900)

FROM THE ARTIST: We all inherit a collective past that shapes our ideas and our futures. The central theme of this piece is two children looking to the past. They recognize the struggles that have shaped civil rights. These children are able to embrace due to this past they inherited, as they embrace the future.
