Hug Me , I Am Different
by Elayna Alexandra Flodin

Sun City West , Arizona

I am different.
Smile at me when I walk in the door.
Introduce yourself and ask me my name.
Invite me to play at recess
like my friends at my old school
Don’t make fun of me.
I just want to fit in.

FROM THE ARTIST: Being disabled myself, I have been drawn to working with the relationships of humans and the world. My hope is to remind the viewer to reach out. With a single gesture of outreach, compassion and understanding may grow.
