"HANDS OF HERITAGE"
by Alma Sue's Quilts and 25 Community Quilters
along with Artist Danielle Glaysher-Cobian

CREATED IN CELEBRATION OF SARASOTA'S CENTENNIAL
.

Strangers are unread books; they're judged by the first words but,
if you read them long enough, you'll find that their stories are quite compelling.

FROM THE ARTIST: "This community quilt was inspired by the variety of cultures that make up current Sarasota as well as Sarasota of the past. Individual quilters depicted in each block what inspires them about Sarasota and how its diversity has enriched their lives here. The colors blue and yellow ochre were a uniting theme, symbolizing sky, water, and sand."
